Scholarship Awards

Lauren Gray

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Pasadena Chapter, in collaboration with the Pasadena/Altadena Ivy Foundation (PAIF), recently awarded 12 scholarships to graduating, college-bound students. These scholarships recognized exceptional accomplishments across various categories, including S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), Social Justice, Most Improved GPA, Young African American Male, and Overcoming Obstacles.

Together, the organizations awarded over $24,500 in scholarships in 2024, including the prestigious Regenia Payne Moses multi-year scholarship of $5,000, presented to Lauren Gray from John Muir High School. Since its chartering in 1960, the Pasadena Chapter of AKA, in partnership with PAIF, has awarded more than $620,000 in scholarships. The organizations are committed to expanding scholarship opportunities further and welcome community support to reach even greater milestones.

The impact of these awards, both financially and through recognition, underscores AKA and PAIF’s dedication to empowering young people in Pasadena and the surrounding areas, ensuring a bright future led by these accomplished students.
