The Pasadena/Altadena Ivy Foundation partnered with the Pasadena/Altadena Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to support Assemblymember Chris Holden’s 17th Annual Community Resources Block Party. The purpose of the block party is to get information out to the community in an exciting and family friendly way. With this event taking place two weeks prior to school starting, these organizations felt that it would be a great time to make a difference in the community by giving away over 100 backpacks that were filled with school supplies targeted for elementary and secondary school students. Many of the recipients were low income and needed this additional helping hand in order to get their kids ready for school.
