The Pasadena Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will spend Martin Luther King (MLK) Day providing services to the Pasadena Community.
Dinner is an important meal in the day that gives families a chance to sit down, talk and learn about the day of each member. It is a time for sharing, but due to a variety of reasons, this meal does not take place in all homes or there may not be enough food on the table.
- We will honor Dr. King on Monday, January 21, 2019 by supporting our veterans, low income families, and children of incarcerated parents through giving them grocery store gift cards so they can put food on their tables.
- We will also donate blankets, coats, gloves, hats, socks and scarfs to Union Station Homeless Shelter in Pasadena.
We know that service and giving back to others is a strong way to make a difference in our community and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the Pasadena/Altadena Ivy Foundation is passionate about serving and doing work that continues to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
