"There has been a 30% decrease in breast cancer mortality in the US from 1989- 2015"
- Susan G. Komen Website
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, accounting for nearly one in three cancers diagnosed in women. The death rate for African-American women is 42% higher than white women. Significantly, African-American women are nearly twice as likely as white women to be diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer which is more aggressive, spreads to other parts of the body faster and is harder to treat than other forms of breast cancer.
